Opportunity Insights Announces Johannes Stroebel and Theresa Kuchler as Research Principals

Raj Chetty, John Friedman, Nathaniel Hendren, and Sarah Oppenheimer have announced Johannes Stroebel and Theresa Kuchler as Research Principals at Opportunity Insights.

Johannes and Theresa have collaboared with the Opportunity Insights extensively in recent years, most recently serving as lead authors on Social Capital I: Measurement and Associations with Economic Mobility and Social Capital II: Determinants of Economic Connectedness, published in Nature.

Johannes Stroebel is the David S. Loeb Professor of Finance at the New York University Stern School of Business. He joined NYU in 2013 from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where he was the Neubauer Family Assistant Professor of Economics. He conducts research in climate finance, household finance, social network analysis, macroeconomics, and real estate economics.

Theresa Kuchler is an Associate Professor of Finance at New York University’s Stern School of Business. Her research interests lie in how consumers and firms make decisions in financial and related matters, incorporating insights from behavioral economics.

Research Principals, Johannes and Theresa will help to lead Opportunity Insights’ continued research agenda with a focus on continued work on the role of social capital.
