Visiting Research Fellow
Juliet-Nil Uraz is a Visiting Research Fellow at Opportunity Insights and a PhD candidate at the London School of Economics. Her research lies at the intersection of public economics and empirical legal studies, exploring how access to civil legal assistance —such as help with housing, debt, and welfare disputes—affects benefit take-up, health, and economic inequality. She is particularly interested in the role of legal assistance in expanding economic opportunity.
She collaborates with Policy in Practice, the UK Legal Aid Practitioners Group, and the American Bar Foundation’s Justice Data Observatory to map justice sector data gaps and develop AI tools for the legal aid and benefits sector. She previously worked at the European Systemic Risk Board and contributed to the World Political Cleavages and Inequality project.
